Renault Kiger Interiors – The Reason why I said no to a Hatchback

When you drive an entry-level car, you surely own a 4-wheeler, but might also end up making a lot of compromises. While an entry-level car definitely offers tremendous advantages over a 2-wheeler, its interiors are very small and only offer limited functional benefits.

Hence, when I decided to upgrade, I knew that the interior quality and features of my new car would be of prime importance to me. So, while I was looking for a hatchback to upgrade, a friend of mine suggested that I also check out Renault Kiger’s interiors even though it was an SUV.

Since I had shortlisted 2 hatchbacks, I thought that there was no harm in trying Renault Kiger too. I went online and booked a test drive. I never knew what was in store for me next!

I had seen Renault Kiger zipping around many times and I must confess that the tri-octa pure vision LED headlamps looked stunning to me and so did the LED DRLs and LED tail lamps. But since it was an SUV, I never thought of digging deep and exploring the Renault Kiger interiors. But during the test drive, I decided that the Renault Kiger’s interiors would remain my prime focus area.

When the test car came to my place, I went straight to the driver’s seat. The first thing I liked about the seat was that it came with a height adjustable facility which allowed an average height person like me to raise the seat and get commanding view of the outside world.

Then as I looked around, I found that Renault Kiger’s interiors were feature-rich, most of which were absent in the hatchbacks that I had shortlisted. For instance, the hatchbacks lacked the 8.9 cm LED instrument cluster, the push start-stop button and the smart access cluster.

Even the 222 mm of knee room for the rear passenger was absolute luxury when compared to the hatchbacks. Renault Kiger’s interiors were impressive with over 29L of interior storage spaces beside a large 405L of boot space, expandable up to 879L with the rear seats folded.

I liked the fact that the seating arrangement was ergonomically designed to make sure that the passengers remained in a great mood even on long drives.

While I was impressed with the comfort & technology of Renault Kiger interiors, I discovered that it was also awarded a 4-star rating for adults by Global NCAP. This was an excellent point, testifying the safety of the car. Also, 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear view camera, front parking sensors and a solid build quality gave me confidence that Renault Kiger was indeed a safe car for my family.

Finally, when the representative told me that Renault Kiger starts at just Rs. 5.99 Lakh* (Ex-Showroom Delhi), I was over the moon. Yet I did not close the deal on that day but decided to research for some credible Kiger reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with how many auto enthusiasts had given a thumbs-up for Renault Kiger on YouTube, CarWale, CarDehko, The Hindu, The New Indian Express, etc.

Impressed with what I saw, the next day I sealed the deal and today I am a proud owner of a Renault Kiger.
